Race Day Information

  • The information below is very important; please take the time to read it.

    Contestants should arrive at the race no later than 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes before your race start time this then allows for parking and check-in line ups.

    Please make sure you find your RACE NUMBER for check-in on the day (you will check-in with your RACE NUMBER and not your order number).

    GETTING HERE

    If you are following a Sat. Nav. please use the postcode RH5 4RP to navigate to the location. Our address is Swires Farm, Henfold Lane, Dorking.

    VEHICLE PARKING

    There is a parking fee of £3.00 per vehicle. Parking opens at 8:30am on Saturday and 7am on Sunday. Your patience on arrival when parking would be appreciated. Parking will take a while so please bear with the parking staff as they get you parked safely.

    CHECK-IN

    On arrival please head for the ADMINISTRATION MARQUEE.

    CLOTHING

    NO METAL SPIKES

    Trainers (please make sure your laces are tied tightly as they will get sucked off in the mud).
    Wear fast-drying breathable fabric. Bring a change of clothing/ footwear and a towel.

    CHANGING ROOM/SHOWERS

    There are separate male and female changing marquee.
    We have 2 very basic shower heads in boys and girls changing area (cold water), expect queuing. Please bring a towel and a change of clothing along with 2 bin bags to store your dirty clothing.

    KEY DROP

    There is a staffed key drop area where you can leave your keys when you are off on the challenge. Please leave other valuables in your car; the car park is manned by staff all day.

    BAG DROP

    An area is available for you to leave your bags; however, this bag drop is un-manned so please leave only non-valuable items. Please do not leave money, cards, keys or phones etc.

    TIMING CHIP

    The race will be chip-timed; please attach this securely to your trainer laces. Failure to return your chip after the race will result in a £5 charge.

    BIB NUMBER

    You will be provided with a stick-on race number (with additional body tags for photographic recognition), luggage label and sports tattoos in your race pack. The race number needs to go on the FRONT of your top, this helps our photography and staff teams identify you. The luggage label is to to be placed through your bag handle(s) like airport check-in and the race number tattoos should be stuck to your hand or forehead. This is an additional measure to identify you if you lose your bib number.

    WHAT TO EXPECT

    Lots of crawling on your hands and knees and climbing up river banks and cargo netting. We have lots of obstacles so if you are not sure that you can tackle an obstacle please walk around and go on to the next one. (3 and 4 lappers must complete all obstacles).

    REFUELLING

    Any contestants doing multiple laps can bring snacks and energy drinks for when they lap back round. These can be left at the refuel station.

    MULTIPLE LAPPERS

    You must be on your final lap by 2pm.

    SPECTATORS

    Friends, family and children can come along and watch. Dogs are also welcome provided they are on a lead.

    FIRST AID

    We have separate male and female medical tents.
    The onsite medical team are ‘Want Medical’.
    We also have volunteers from Surrey Search and Rescue.

    SUNDAY CONTESTANTS

    Please note 3 and 4 lappers on Sunday 8th March are part of the UK & World Qualifying OCR Championship (please give way to these contestants).

    Technical T-shirts are included for all contestants who attend on the day along with a medal.
    You can also purchase additional Hoodies and T-shirts.

    CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES

    FOOD AND DRINK

    Various food and drink stalls will be in the Event Village location.

    SUSSEX SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY

    A team of photographers will be onsite to capture your Nuttie moments check the gallery after the challenge.

    Welcome to The Nuts Challenge

    Nuts is a 7-28k assault course UK adventure race in Surrey near London. Our next mud run is on 7th/ 8th March 2015 and is now SOLD OUT, places fill up fast with limited availability so book here for our 5th / 6th Sep dates.

    You can run for charity or just for fun, the assault course is also available all year round and we run special obstacle race training sessions for the Nuts Challenge.
